Read the stories in the feet you see. Some are well groomed with painted nails and some in high heels. Here at Lenoir where I live a huge building operation is in process, with many of the workers wearing steel toed work shoes. The executives in the offices wear other kinds. Tennis shoes, boxing shoes, golf shoes, basketball shoes, football shoes, rubber boots, fishing waders – all tell something about the owner of the feet. The bus group of about 20 included several folks who were already donors, but had never seen how their dollars were used. Malita Chaya

Chikwawa District, Malawi … Born in 1972 forty-five-year-old Malita Chaya has entertained the idea of having her own business for a long time. However, reality dictated another course, one that offered little in the way of advancement, no type of wage increase, no retirement program, nor any health insurance, and no possibility of advancement for merit. Her legs would not move, and this made it nearly impossible to care for her three children.

Earl Miner, the designer of the Mobility Cart, emphasized that it was a “machine of peace”. “You cannot mount a machine gun on it,” he said. It has now been placed in 104 countries, and without any regard to race, creed, politics, sexual preference or the language of the persons in need.
