PET MO-Columbia update 4/7/14

PET production since January 1. 2014: 309

*** Three medical doctors from The Republic of Georgia were here last Friday
to tour the PET shop and office. It is always so good to have folks here
from the areas of our distribution. These gentlemen were all involved in the
mission of ACTS (A Call To Serve) that has its office here in Columbia. PET
& Container Project have made several shipments of PETs and sewing machines
to Georgia. Georgia is very near to Sochi, the site of the 2014 Olympics.

*** Report- Tachna, Peru. Emilio Valderlanquez Flores is 57 years old and
lives in a small fishing village. He cannot walk and an ordinary wheelchair
will not work in the sand there. He can manage the PET and now works helping
the fishermen mend their nets.

(I was in Tachna, Peru, in 1990 with the meeting of Habitat for Humanity. We
built houses in a fishing village near Tachna. They went all-out to give us
great seafood meals.) (Attached is the 2012 story and picture Mel is
remembering. Kathy)

*** Project Hope Success Story: Aizada Kozhobergenova is 35 years old. and
lives with her mother in Bishkek City, Kyrgyzstan. Until now she moved with
the help of some old crutches. This was the reason she finished only three
classes of school at home. She can read a little bit. She receives a meager
pension of $43 a month. She tried to make money and helps her mother
knitting socks and baby things which she sells to her neighbors. Aizada
could not believe that she had received her PET free of charge and now she
can get out of her home and go visit friends and can even help her mother go
and buy products.
