Christoff riding his PET in Benin

My good friend and PET supporter Danny Saleh provided the following story from a recent trip he made to Benin, West Africa. Our partner organization in that country is M.I.E.R.S. MISSION INTERNATIONALE D’EVANGELISATION ET DE REVEIL SPIRITUEL. They have imported and successfully distributed over three hundred PET carts that were made at PET Affiliates in New York, Tennessee and Maine. Danny was recently helping with a medical clinic that he was volunteering with when he met Christoff the man featured on his PET. Here is Danny’s story of his PET sighting in Benin.

“I did make it a point to find the guy here at the compound that has the clinic, agriculture training and such that has a PET. His name is Christoff and he is now asst. concierge at the front gate. When I met him I noticed he had legs cut off at the calf and missing fingers on one hand. It looked to be burns on the hand so we talked for a
minute and he wanted to demo how fast he could go and turn and such. He was fueling a lamp in his house and the kerosene blew up while he was filling it and he lived in a wooden house and was lucky to make it out. He is about 60 yrs. old and the big thing you cannot miss is his smile. He is so happy with the pet but at first he didn’t like it.
Said it took some getting used to but now he loves the maneuverability it can go forward and reverse and he likes no puncture on the tires and storage area below. He keeps it in brand new condition because he lives here in the compound and seems very happy. I tell you it was a blessing just to meet him and talk.” Danny
